Chief Accounting Officer, Versant Health
Chair, Go Red 2021 AHA Committee

There’s extra significance to Kimberly Davis being featured in this Women Who Move Maryland section.
Yes, she’s the chief accounting officer for Versant Health, a managed vision-care organization providing vision insurance services to more than 35 million members. One of the nation’s leading managed vision-care companies, Versant covers the entire spectrum through its products, from routine benefits to medical management, providing members with access to high quality eye care through a dependable, seamless experience, with plans that accommodate a broad range of demographic and economic needs.
But she’s also the 2021 chair of the Go Red for Women Committee of the American Heart Association of Greater Maryland, which this special section supports.
Each year, National Wear Red Day marks the beginning of American Heart Month, encouraging women to wear red to raise awareness about the Go Red for Women movement and women’s heart disease and stroke. This year, it’s February 5. So, as an accountant, she’s the perfect person to tally up the enthusiastic support for this year’s campaign.
A certified public accountant who holds an MBA from Johns Hopkins University, she had a calling early on to her career path. “I knew since I was in the 10th grade that I wanted to be an accountant,” says Kimberly. “There was just something about accounting that really clicked for me. I found it interesting and fun!”
But what helps her stand out from the accounting crowd is her experience with transforming the accounting function and building high-performing accounting teams, her ability to be dynamic in fast-paced environments, and her effective leadership in challenging environments.
But she still finds time to give back: In addition to her AHA contributions, she serves on several nonprofit boards, including Finance Executive, Inc., Executive Alliance, and the Johns Hopkins Dean Alumni Advisory Board.
