A highly skilled plastic surgeon regularly recognized in Baltimore magazine’s annual Top Doctors peer survey, Dr. Michele Shermak’s focus is helping her patients achieve their best versions of themselves.
She trained at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and remained on faculty at Hopkins for 11 years until transitioning to private practice in Lutherville nine years ago. Dr. Shermak is an internationally recognized expert in breast and body contouring and has published scientific articles, chapters, and a definitive textbook with a focus on patient safety and individualizing and optimizing surgical outcomes.
She regularly presents talks at national meetings and served as a visiting professor for the educational arm of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, teaching techniques and safety measures to plastic surgery trainees around the country.
Whether her patients desire liposuction, tummy tuck, body lifts, or breast or facial rejuvenation, Dr. Shermak listens to her patients carefully to assure their goals are met. She has a very active practice in breast reconstruction and complex revision surgery, as well.

Dr. Shermak is a local Baltimore girl and loves to give back, supporting such causes as Gilman School, Kennedy-Krieger Institute, Associated Jewish Charities, and Baltimore School for the Arts, as well as serving on the Levindale Geriatric Center board.
