In Good Company: Creative Connections
Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Rye Street Tavern
On a stunning fall morning in Port Covington, the third segment of our In Good Company series, Creative Connections, invited luxury interior designer Patrick Sutton to the stage to discuss the importance of creative thinking in business and professional development. Baltimore magazine and Weller Development welcomed 75 guests to the picturesque Rye Street Tavern, a treasure of Sutton’s interior-design ingenuity. The tavern exuded a pastoral feel with substantial bright light, earthy tones, and farm-inspired motifs. During his speech, Sutton focused on the importance of leading with a creative vision in the workplace and the collaboration between different thinkers that can aid in a business’s success. Guests also got exclusive looks at his past, present, and future works.
We started the day with coffee and a tasty breakfast of fruit, quiche, and smashed avocado toast from Copper Kitchen. While networking with fellow professionals, attendees basked in the rustic and warm interior design that perfectly defines the Rye Street Tavern’s aesthetic and atmosphere. Flowers and Fancies created striking bouquets that accompanied the space perfectly. Guests were also encouraged to snap a picture with new connections at a Pixilated photobooth.
Our year-long In Good Company series benefits Blue Water Baltimore, which strives to improve Baltimore’s waterways through a holistic set of programs. Using arts and education, storm water management projects, and legal and legislative advocacy, this organization promotes the importance of sustainability to all citizens in the community.
A special thanks to Mark Moody for capturing the beauty of the space.
