The Awards
Baltimore magazine proudly presents its inaugural Home & Design Awards, a local competition for architects, interior designers, artisans, builders, and landscape designers. A distinguished panel of nationally renowned professionals will judge entries in 40 categories.
Winners will be announced at a cocktail party and awards reception in March and featured in the April 2023 issue of Baltimore magazine.

The DETAILS
All projects must have been completed between January 1, 2019 and November 30, 2022 and must be located in Baltimore city, Baltimore County, Howard County, Harford County, Carroll County, Anne Arundel County, Frederick County, and the Eastern Shore. Both firms and individuals may submit projects.
$100 for one entry; $80 per entry for two to three entries; $60 per entry for more than three entries. Fees are nonrefundable, even if an entry is determined to be ineligible. Fees must be paid through the online form.
A single project may be entered in no more than five categories. If you submit the same project in multiple categories, please use the same project title. There is no limit to the number of projects that you may enter.
In the online form, please provide a brief overview in paragraph form (300 words or less) detailing significant aspects of the project. The statement should discuss design challenges, design solutions, and all other pertinent aspects. Please write in complete sentences, and do not include the name of your company, designer, or architect in the description.
Each entry must be accompanied by at least one and no more than seven high-resolution images. Each image should be 300 dpi and at least 1,000 pixels wide. Please upload your appropriately named images via the online submission form. Acceptable formats are JPEG, TIFF, EPS, or PSD with a size limitation of 30MB per image. Entries in the “Home” categories must include photos representing at least three distinct spaces. General Excellence and Rising Star submissions must include images from at least three different projects.
We strongly advise the photos be shot by a professional photographer. Entrants must secure and submit royalty/ reuse-free photos from their photographer before submitting images. All photography submitted may be published free of charge in Baltimore magazine and on baltimoremagazine.com. It’s the entrant’s responsibility to inform the photographer of these terms.
An independent panel is selected from professionals based outside of Maryland. Judges are nationally and internationally recognized names from the interior design and architecture industries. All judges’ decisions are final.
All entries must be submitted and paid in full by 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
Images and text from winning entries become the property of Baltimore magazine, which retains legal/publishing rights from submission for one year.
The Judges
LEE STARKE
Lee Starke is a project manager and interior designer for Cline Design Associates in Raleigh, North Carolina. Starke leads and manages an expansive portfolio of projects, from large-scale residential buildings to golf clubhouses and corporate office spaces.
KAYLA COOPER
From clothes to cars to spaces, Kayla Cooper has designed it all. Beginning her career in Washington, D.C., Cooper’s now based in Pennsylvania and travels to create modern, minimalist spaces with sustainable influences.
KINLEY C. PUZEY, AIA
Kinley C. Puzey, AIA, has spent the last 18 years in the design and construction industry. In 2015, he founded Utah-based Onyx Design Collective, which specializes in high-end residential and one-of-a-kind commercial projects.
ALISON KENWORTHY
Alison Kenworthy is the Founder and CEO of Homeworthy, a media platform with more than 50 million that is devoted to extraordinary people and the beautiful places they call home. She is a 3x Emmy Award winning television producer formerly with ABC News and Good Morning America.
BOB WETMORE, AIA
As a principal partner and one of the two founding partners of Cornerstone Architects, based in Austin, Texas, Bob has developed the company’s design principles and oversees the design development for luxury residential and resort architecture of both international projects as well as those throughout the region.
MICHELLE ROSSOMANDO, AIA, RID
Michelle Rossomando, AIA, RID is a Principal and President of McKinney York Architects. She leads planning and design on the firm’s most complex civic, cultural, and higher-education projects for institutional and commercial clients.
