Bello Machre

Bello Machre provides a lifetime commitment of loving care for children and adults with developmental disabilities throughout Maryland. We promise family members that we will always be there for their loved ones.

Founded in 1972 by parents of children with developmental disabilities, our name means “home of my heart” in Gaelic. We care for people in safe, beautiful, accessible homes throughout the community. A live-in caregiver guides and helps those we support to be as independent as possible.

We help children, adults, and families in their own homes and communities to navigate the system, providing transportation, community integration, respite care, or whatever is needed .

We provide individual day services, including supported employment and community-based social, recreational, and educational opportunities so everyone experiences a meaningful day!

Our key events include Every Step Counts—a walk, bike, run event in June—and our September Annual Golf Tournament.
