First Fruits Farm

First Fruits Farm is a nonprofit, Christian ministry dedicated to providing fresh, nutritious food for the hungry through volunteer service and community partnerships.

What began in 1998 as a backyard garden project for the Bernstein family to grow food for charity has evolved into the largest nonprofit farm operation in the Mid-Atlantic region. One hundred percent of the Farm’s healthy produce is donated to those struggling with hunger—nothing is sold.

Since the Farm’s inception, over 27 million pounds of healthy food (108 million servings) has been given to support hungry people in Baltimore and across their multi-state footprint. With the help of thousands of volunteers each year (17,000+ in 2023), the Farm’s fresh produce is feeding those who need it most via their evergrowing network of regional distribution partners (200+ last year) who reach the most vulnerable in our communities—regardless of ZIP code.
