JEREMIAH CARR
From the time he was a freshman at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute (BPI), Jeremiah wanted to be a leader in the school’s Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) program. He achieved that by putting his all into the program, earning the most community service hours of his peers as well as the most decorations, including the American Legion General Military Excellence Award, Tuskegee Airmen Incorporated AFJROTC Cadet Award, and Celebrate Freedom Foundation Award.
As a leader in the AFJROTC program, Jeremiah is responsible for planning and executing monthly field trips and social activities and he oversees a wide variety of extra-curricular leadership development programs. When he managed the unit’s snack bar, he overhauled operations, leading to a $10,000 profit to support the
program, and he developed innovative strategies to lead the unit when it needed to operate virtually. By example, he instills a strong sense of teamwork, discipline, and personal accountability among cadets.
“Jeremiah exudes the Air Force core values—integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all we do.” —Cristiano Marchiori, nominator
