MARYVALE PREPARATORY SCHOOL

Laura Scott is the director of the Patricia J. Mitchell ’65 Leadership Institute at Maryvale Preparatory School. With a strong background as a global supply chain leader at McCormick & Company and previously with Quest International, Scott brings extensive experience in leadership and business success to Maryvale. She is actively involved with the United Way of Central Maryland. Scott is an influential leader passionate about helping young women reach their professional and personal goals. She is committed to delivering, developing, and growing Maryvale’s distinctive and distinguished school-wide leadership program.

Ten years ago, Maryvale launched the Mitchell Leadership Institute. This signature academic leadership program was the first of its kind for independent girls’ schools in Baltimore. Named in 2023 for Patricia J. Mitchell ’65, Maryvale’s first woman and alumna president of the board of trustees, this program encompasses academic training, real-life experiences, and immense opportunity to develop exemplary leadership skills that will catapult young women in college, career, and life.
