While not an ideal situation—and one fraught with emotion for the seller— Balcerzak was able to pay for the home’s pre-listing preparation, obtained a contract on the home, and not only got the seller through closing, but helped her secure a new apartment home.

“There were a few transactions in 2023 that were truly the most challenging of our careers,” says Balcerzak. “We got people through things that I never thought were possible. We go way past our duty as realtors. We are trusted advisors, friends, therapists, and so much more. We don’t stop at 5 o’clock either. The extremely emotional and anxious calls at 11 o’clock at night on Saturdays are a real thing—and I’m proud to say we always answer.”
