Village Learning Place

2521 St. Paul Street
Baltimore, MD 21218

Tucked into an historic building in north Baltimore City is the Village Learning Place (VLP), a welcoming location that promotes literacy, cultural awareness, and lifelong learning. Here children learn reading skills, access information and educational programs, and foster a love of reading.

VLP is more than a library—though it does have over 9,000 cardholders! It has preserved an important landmark building, and is home to a beautiful community garden and a community center. VLP also offers a safe and enriching out-of-school space for children and youth through its Let’s Invest in Neighborhood Kids (LINK) programs. Offered to kids in Pre-K to 12th grade, LINK is a proven success; 80 percent of students maintain or improve their scores in math and reading. Through support services, digital literacy, employment services, and health and fitness resources, VLP is creating space for everyone to learn and live well, right in the friendly neighborhood library.
