They’ve been practicing. And this month, eight gifted guitarists from around the world will gather from September 23-25 for the first-ever Baltimore International Guitar Competition. Presented by the Baltimore Classical Guitar Society, under the helm of Grammy-nominated artistic director Manuel Barrueco, with performances at three area colleges, the event aims to help develop and encourage musicians ages 15 to 34, who will play before distinguished jury members and the public for a top prize of $35,000.
