The BSO announced today that Jason Alexander, who played Seinfeld‘s George Costanza, will replace Mandy Patinkin for a string of BSO Pops concerts in January. Patinkin bailed due to a scheduling conflict, and Alexander, also a Broadway vet, will appear January 23-25 at the Meyerhoff and January 22 at Strathmore. Alexander won a Tony as “Best Musical Actor” for his performance in Jerome Robbins’ Broadway and starred with Martin Short in the L.A. production of The Producers, so he’s no slouch. I think he was also an architect at one point.
