Thanksgiving Runs, Crafts, and Events

THUNDERBIRD AMERICAN INDIAN DANCERS
11/2. Goucher College, Kraushaar Auditorium, 1021 Dulaney Valley Rd., Towson. 10:15 a.m. & 12 p.m. $9. In bright feathers and embroidered clothing, this lively group will dance and sing in the Native-American tradition.

HARVESTING THE PAST
11/12. Maryland Historical Society, 201 W. Monument St. 1 p.m. Free-$9. Bring the kids to learn about Maryland’s Native-American farming practices with hands-on activities.

THANKFUL FOR TURKEYS
11/12. Lake Roland Nature Center, 1000 Lakeside Dr. 10 a.m. Free. Drop in to the nature center to investigate turkey artifacts and make a craft. 

NATIVE AMERICANS OF MARYLAND 
11/12. Cromwell Valley Park, 2002 Cromwell Bridge Rd., Parkville. 1 p.m. Free. Try out the same tools that local Native Americans used to hunt, fish, and grow crops.

LET’S TALK TURKEY 
11/18. Cromwell Valley Park, 2002 Cromwell Bridge Rd., Parkville. 1 p.m. $2-4. Meet a live turkey and learn about the bird that became a symbol for Thanksgiving. 

THANKSGIVING CRAFTS 
11/20. Enoch Pratt Free Library, 3801 Erdman Ave. 5:30 p.m. Free. Grab a piece of paper and pair of scissors to make a classic hand turkey or other Thanksgiving-inspired craft.

TROT THE TRAIL 5K
11/19. Herring Run Park, 3800 Belair Rd. 8 a.m. $5. Prep for the big Thursday gobble with a bright-and-early run on Sunday morning.

Y TURKEY TROT CHARITY 5K
11/23. Stieff Silver Building, 810 Wyman Park Dr. 8:30 a.m. $5-42. Burn some pre-feast calories with a 5K for no-guilt slices of pumpkin pie. 

GOBBLE COBBLE TURKEY TROT
11/23. MAC Harbor East, 655 President St. 8 a.m. $35-40. Grab your sneakers and hit the city streets for this festive 5K through the Inner Harbor before the big meal.
