The Charmery owners David and Laura Alima have just the cure for folks who have been bitten by the travel bug during quarantine. In honor of the shop’s seventh birthday this month, they’re debuting a special menu of whimsical flavors inspired by their global adventures pre-COVID-19. Taking over the scooping cabinets at all locations for the next 10 days will be flavors including Rosa Con Su Mezcal (Mexico), Banoffee Pie with Biscoff biscuits and toffee bits (England), Ube Sticky Rice (Thailand), Baklava (Greece), and vegan Ginger Grater Cake (Jamaica). Cool off with one of the varieties to wish the beloved shop a happy birthday while taking your taste buds on a trip around the world.

Aug. 21: Sagamore Spirit’s Craft Your Own Cocktail Tour

What better way to kick off the weekend than with a cold whiskey cocktail? Spread out around the outdoor tasting room at the Sagamore Spirit distillery in Port Covington to create your own Sagamore Crush and Black-Eyed Rye cocktails from a safe distance. Then, take a stroll over to Rye Street Tavern to dine in the tented al fresco area overlooking the harbor. Tickets for the DIY cocktail class are $25 and sold in groups of two.

Aug. 21-30: Artscape Online Artists’ Market
If you missed Artscape as much as we did this summer, now is your chance to browse the works of local makers whose booths would have lined Mt. Royal Avenue on inevitably the hottest weekend of the summer. Organizers with the Baltimore Office of Promotion and the Arts have put together a virtual artists’ market for locals to support 75 sculptors, painters, illustrators, designers, jewelry makers, and other local creatives this year. To celebrate the launch, participants Priyanka Kumar, Christopher and Rikiesha Metzger, and Qwishuna Smith will engage in a Virtual Artist Cafe talk streaming on BOPA’s Facebook and Youtube pages from 7-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 21.

Musical mastermind Josh Stokes is bringing together some of Charm City’s greatest rappers, DJs, photographers, spoken word artists, R&B singers, Bmore Club dancers, and more for the second installment of his Nu Love Fest. Throw on a mask and gather to soak in some much-needed positive energy from the gifted group. If you feel more comfortable tuning in from home, Stokes will be streaming the entire event via Instagram Live.

Spend your Sunday afternoon strolling around the outdoor patio and garage at R. House in Remington, which will feature unique home goods, clothing, gifts, and crystals from The Codex Club and Ankh Queens Crafts at its inaugural Garage Sale Market.
