Brusco: This new sandwich shop, adjacent to the modern-Greek restaurant Cava Mezze, joins the ever-expanding culinary scene in Harbor East. Encantada: It was just over a year ago that we said goodbye to Mr. Rain’s Fun House, the contemporary New American restaurant that took up residence on the third floor of the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) for five years. But fans of Birroteca and The Nickel Taphouse will be happy to hear that owner Robbin Haas has quickly transformed the former Mr. Rain’s space into his new concept, Encantada, which celebrated its grand opening earlier this month. Although meat is found on the menu at the lunch and dinner spot, the offerings are more veggie-centric, with an emphasis on root vegetables and leafy greens. The space also boasts a signature juice bar so that diners can enjoy fresh juices and smoothies to accompany their meals. 800 Key Highway, 410-752-1000

Ch-ch-changes
Bookmaker’s Cocktail Club: This month Bookmaker’s executive chef Sara Acconcia resigned from her gig for personal reasons. Although there’s no word yet on what’s next for the chef, it’s been announced that Bookmakers’ sous chef Nelson Morton has since taken the reins in the kitchen at the Federal Hill spot. With stints at local hotspots like Le Garage, 13.5% Wine Bar, Maggie’s Farm, and Woodberry Kitchen, and even an appearance on the Food Network last month, Acconcia has certainly made her mark on the local dining scene.
Corner Restaurant Charcuterie Bar: After a summer makeover (and name change from Corner BYOB to Corner Restaurant and Charcuterie Bar), Corner Restaurant features a new, spiffed-up, contemporary decor. No longer BYOB, this Hampden hotspot has a full bar menu along with more approachable fare.
