The ultimate imprimatur that Towson is moving on up— supermarket behemoth Whole Foods Market is slated to open a 45,000 square-foot store on Towson Row sometime in 2018 or 2019.
This will be the natural food and organic grocer’s first foray into Baltimore County, but the 10th store in Maryland (including Harbor East, Mt. Washington, and Annapolis).
In addition to the Whole Foods, the $350 million mixed-use Towson Row project by Caves Valley Partners at the corner of York Road and Towsontown Boulevard, will include 100,000 square feet of retail space, a 200-room hotel, and student housing.
“The people of Towson have been asking for a Whole Foods Market for some time now—and we’re excited to make it a reality,” Said Scott Allshouse, Whole Foods Market Mid-Atlantic regional president, in a statement. “We take great pride as ‘America’s Healthiest Grocery Store”—and can’t wait to share our values and quality ingredients with even more people who live and work in the area.”
