It only makes sense that Friends‘ chosen holiday to celebrate each season on television was Thanksgiving. After all, nothing brings people together more than Thanksgiving and friends.
To us, the show Friends is like comfort food for the soul, giving us the same warm, fuzzy feelings as a day spent enjoying delicious food with the people you are the most thankful for.
We figured what better way to celebrate the 25th anniversary of America’s favorite show than with a Thanksgiving dinner party that we imagine the Gellers would still be hosting. Complete with a place setting and treat themed for each ‘friend’, our dinner table was one that we feel even Monica and her high standards would be impressed by.
We were inspired by the always eclectic and warm setting of Monica’s kitchen that was the venue for every Thanksgiving episode. With this in mind, we mixed and matched patterns, plates, and gave the traditional Friends colors a fresh update.
And, of course, coffee and donuts from Central Perk were a must for dessert. Like many people we often quote Friends to each other so we had fun using quotes and nods from the various episodes on the invitation, menu, and edible treats.
The Geller cup, a trophy that Monica and Ross would battle for at the family’s annual touch football game, also had to make an appearance as our centerpiece for the table.
