You’ve probably seen them while walking through the parking lot of M&T Bank Stadium. Or maybe at one of the Orioles recent pep rallies. Or even in a city outside of Baltimore, when you notice an out-of-place sea of purple.
This is the simple mission of Bmore Around Town—to host parties, tailgates, and pep rallies for Baltimore sports fans. Started five years ago by former Federal Hill resident Brian Snyder, the company hosts tailgates for every Ravens game, both home and away.
“I started it just as a fan to create one place for everyone to go and enjoy the festivities,” he says. “Sometimes, the actual football game is just the added bonus for people.”
The Purple Tailgate, located off of Leadenhall Street, features catering by Blue Agave, entertainment by DJ Buddha, flip-cup and cornhole games, and a full open bar for $30 per person. Bmore Around Town also sells packages for road games, which include air fare, lodging, parties at local bars, and tickets to the game.
“There is not one bar on the road that says they don’t want our group back,” Snyder says. “In fact, bars in Cincinnati and Cleveland now call me to make sure we’re coming.”
Besides tailgates, Bmore Around Town also hosts unique events, like getting Raven Torrey Smith to attend an Orioles game and throw out the first pitch, bus trips to Preakness from downtown, and an annual “Stay Hungry” event hosted by Adam Jones where proceeds go to the Boys and Girls Club.
In fact, all of Bmore Around Town’s events have a charity aspect, whether it’s benefiting Casey Cares, Boys and Girls Club, or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (for which the business raised $35,000 in just 10 weeks last year).
Snyder credits Baltimore’s massive sports fan base with making these events and donations possible: “For the short amount of time the Ravens have been established, we’ve built a fan base that rivals teams who have been around for 60 years. It’s pretty incredible.”
Look for the Purple Tailgate this Sunday outside of M&T Bank Stadium.
