A sold-out crowd of 1,000 filled the B&O Railroad Museum for the 14th annual Bourbon & Bowties, a bowtie bonanza that sees most of its male attendees follow the evening’s theme. According to event founder Craig Martin, the party has been a hit since he started it 14 years ago, and for more than just its sartorial allure. For starters, there are dozens of food and beverage stations scattered both inside and outside the museum’s roundhouse.

“There are no lines for food or alcohol,” he says.”We have an outside cigar lounge, and even an Airstream trailer serving food, creating a great experience.”

Of course, the main draw is supporting the charities that benefit from the soiree—Cool Kids Campaign, Semper Fi & America’s Fund, Oyster Recovery Partnership, and Boys Hope Girls Hope of Baltimore.

“The original mission was to raise money while people are having a blast,” Martin says.

Looks like mission accomplished.
