Canton Waterfront Park
The threat of thunderstorms apparently kept some away from the September iteration of WTMD’s fan-favorite First Thursday Festival. A mere 5,000—reportedly the smallest crowd of the summer—showed up at Canton Waterfront Park for the radio station’s final fest of the season. But the folks who did come out were eager to set up their picnic blankets and folding chairs to take in tunes by soul and pop rockers Sweet Leda, Brooklyn, New York-based indie band Nation of Language, and Nashville soul singer Devon Gilfillian. Attendees also roamed the pop-up village of some 85 vendors offering food, drink, and a wide range of wares. Another of the evening’s rewards? A spectacular sunset over Baltimore’s harbor.
