Where did you meet?
We met our freshman year at Loyola University in Maryland. We started dating a year after we met.
Please describe the proposal.
Jack planned everything! He proposed by the water at the Four Seasons in Baltimore and it was perfect. He brought me there under the guise that we were going to dinner with his parents but when I arrived a member of their staff ushered me outside where Jack was waiting. He had hired my friend (and professional photographer) Maria to capture every moment. When we turned around to head back inside to the Four Seasons, all my friends and family were there waiting for us. He had organized for them to come in from out of town for the engagement and no one let the surprise slip!
What was the first thing you did after you got engaged?
Right after we got engaged we celebrated! I was so overwhelmed by the fact that I had just gotten engaged plus seeing all the people I love in one room made it such a memorable experience.
Have you picked a date? Venue? Theme?
We are getting married in June of 2018. The ceremony will be at the Loyola Alumni Chapel and the reception will be at the Four Seasons. There is no theme but our colors at blush pink, light grey, and neutrals.
What is something you and your fiancé like to do together?
Jack and I are nerds and love anything involving finance. We both work in finance and love talking about what stocks we should buy next.
Will you be taking a honeymoon? If so, where and why did you pick that destination?
Yes, we will be taking a honeymoon. We will be going to Santorini and London. Jack has never been to London and I used to live there so I am so excited to show him around.
What is a fun fact about you as a couple?
It’s not really a “fun fact” but something interesting about us is what we have been through as a couple in the seven years we have been dating is most likely a bit more than most. I had a double lung transplant 18 months ago. Jack was at the hospital every day and was one of my main caretakers both before and after the procedure. I can honestly say that I would not be here today without him. Now that I am (literally) able to breathe, we have started to create our bucket list of places we need to see and are making plans to check them off together!
