Where did you meet?
Please describe the proposal.
One of Natalie’s favorite days each month is when she receives her Stitch Fix delivery. For months, whenever she would receive her box of clothing, she would open it in front of me, sometimes even try on some of the garments, and she even got me my own subscription to the service. I decided I would go out on a limb and reach out to Stitch Fix customer service and ask if they could help me with my proposal by sending a roll of their branded packing tape, along with the tracking for Natalie’s forthcoming Fix. They were absolutely thrilled about the opportunity to help with the proposal and promptly provided me with everything I needed for the big day.
Once her box was delivered, I quickly grabbed it from the mailbox, carefully opened it up, and then inserted the ring box inside. I then even more carefully re-sealed the box and hid it in the garage for a couple days, hoping that she would realize it should have been delivered based on her tracking notifications, so I could ‘find’ it in the mailbox on the same day she inquired. With that said, I couldn’t wait more than a day or two. So when Natalie left for work, I took the box out from hiding, placed it on the counter in our kitchen, and patiently awaited her arrival. The rest is pretty much history. She opened the box, found the ring, I got down on one knee, and she said, ‘yes!’ It was pretty perfect.
What was the first thing you did after you got engaged?
We popped a bottle of champagne and called our families to give them the news.
Have you picked a date? Venue? Theme? Yes! Fall 2018 at the Liriodendron Foundation in Bel Air.
What is something you and your fiancé like to do together? We really enjoy trying out new places to eat and drink, and we’re very big on turning off our phones and being present with one another while we’re together. We love spending time with each other, no matter what we’re doing, and our favorite time of day is when we both get to see each other for the first time after work.
Will you be taking a honeymoon? We will be, but we have not yet picked a destination! We’re in the process of narrowing it down though, so we’re getting close.
What is a fun fact about you as a couple? Our names rhyme! And we have a dog, two cats, and a bunny named Kevin.
